Whacky comments! What the craziest comment you've ever heard?

last week a sister in my new hall made the following comment,.

"a brother once told me that it is better to be wrong with the organization, than to be right and be on your own without the organization.".

During a service meeting, there was a 15-min (or so) part about "headship" or something along those lines... I forget the question exactly but an extremely docile sister in her late 50's made this comment that made me cringe: "Jehovah would never approve of sisters who work on telephone poles, trucks or other jobs that are obviously intended for men." I felt bad for her family who were noticebly embarassed afterwards.

The elder giving the talk paused for what seemed to be an eternity (as if he were awaiting a punch line from this sister)... then, realizing that she had already handed back the microphone, he looked down and suddenly said: "Well, we do have sisters that do excellent work in KH quick builds, but we know what you really meant to say"...

I cringed again... I don't know which comment was worse... the sister's or the elder's...

But how our the "techy" j-dubs supposed to count their time and magazine placements on the Field Service App they have on their smart phones?? This will place undue hardship on pioneers who depend on this App... Now they'll have to spend some time at home doing math just to turn in an accurate time slip at the end of the month... how will they ever get over this crisis?...

just in the news: pope benedictus is resigning.

this should be a good example for the gb of our church organization.

there are reasons enough: child abuse (conti case etc), failed prophecies (slave classe, un/osce), killing doctrines (blood doctrine etc, shunning / suicide) and fraude (investment corporation instead of church).. so it would be nice to read on bbc news: governing body of jehovah's witnesses resigns and make way for a new generation that embraces christian freedom.. gorby.

the new light is a bit of give and take by the gb.

they have taken upon themselves the title of the faithful and discreet slave, in exchange for pushing the 'appointment over all of his [christ's] belongings' out into the future, and also in exchange for allowing the earthly class to be counted as 'domestics'.

the gb can now totally lord it as kings over the flock in exchange for having "dignified" them by including them as domestics.

But only 8 dudes in Brooklyn are the Faithful & Discreet Slave. So technically, they are the only mediator between Jesus and the 12K anointed dubs around the globe.

About the 16 pg mags

just flipped through the feb awake and the feb 1 public wat.

first time since they went to 16 pages.

my first impression was the large amount of blank space in both mags, really wasted space.

According to the GB, the reason for less pages (and less content within the remaining pages) is so that the "Translating Teams" can translate these mags into even more languages.

(With over 130 years of practice in the art of deception, I still can't believe they weren't able to come up with a better lie than this)

More evidence that WTS is hurting for $$$ - change to special pioneer mileage reimbursement

per a letter sent to all special pioneers in the us:.

previously the society reimbursed the special pioneers at a flat rate of x cents per mile, to cover the cost of gasoline and maintenance on their cars.

if i recall correctly, it may even have been the standard irs allowable deduction, something like 40-50 cents per mile.. beginning in 2010, the society will reimburse for mileage only, and strictly follow a mathematical formula, using:.

Either they're hurting for money or their GREED is steadily increasing...

Take for example the January 3, 2013 BOE letter (that Atlantis posted recently)...

In order to allow special pioneers, traveling overseers, etc. to attend the 2014 International Assemblies, they are basically asking congos worldwide to fork over $.15USD X 17 months X # of active publishers... Now, $.15 per month is obviously no big deal for any publishers (even in most underdeveloped countries). However, assuming only 5,000,000 publishers are counted for purposes of this collection... that's roughly $12,750,000 USD. Again, this is just a conservative estimate... The real amount will likely be somewhere in the $15M to $18M range... Possibly even more.

Now let's assume 4,000 special pioneers, traveling overseers, etc. actually qualify (because they DO have to qualify first) to get their travel expenses paid for; and assuming those travel expenses average around $3,000 per dub (which is obviously way too high)... That's still only $12,000,000...

So, by May 2014, they stand to pocket (at the very least), $6,000,000 free and clear... Now, according to the January 2013 BOE letter, whatever is left over will go back into (you guessed it) the "Worldwide Work" fund. Wait... isn't that the fund that gets all the surplus contributions? And isn't this the fund that's suppose to pay for ex-pat j-dub travel expenses? Something doesn't quite add up here... I'm sure quite a few j-dubs have already done the math and realized there will definitely be plenty of money left over...

wouldn't it make sense for them to include the twitter button on jw.org? i guess that would be too "worldly" and may cause some brothers to stumble.

i think we should all "follow" this twitter account and then bomard it with "informative" tweets and links to this site and others. We should strike fast, before they realize what a big mistake it was to engage in worldly social networking.

Not on jw.org, sister killed in a train crash which some investigators believe to have been a suicide!

it has been confirmed by some brothers on facebook that a 42 year old sister died today around 5pm when her suv got on the train tracks while the amtrak was crossing in the state of nc.

it came up on the news today although they never mentioned that she was one of jehovah's witnesses.

so where was jehovah's holy spirit in this matter?

Why would a multi-million dollar empire like the Chet Adams Company press charges against an ex-employee for allegedly embezzling $30K? Wasn't firing her enough?

I would certainly understand if this were Grandma's Flower Shop or Joe's Tire Repair, but we're talking about a well-established HVAC company that probably makes $30K profit in just one small project. Also, if she had been stealing from them for a period of 17 months, what does that say about their accounting department? And more importantly, why would they put their reputation at risk by taking this into a court room?

Something doesn't quite add up...
